72,000 Words & Counting

I can predict with certainty that In the Shadow of the King will be a lengthy book. At the moment, I'm 180 pages in (with a current file size of 2.61 MB and 72,058 words), but only to the year 1510 in the storyline. As Sir Francis Bryan lived until 1550, I still have quite a few miles to travel in order to reach the end.

I back up the file for In the Shadow of the King to a flash drive several times a day, which also holds all of my other books. If the house were to ever catch fire, I would grab the drive right after alerting Jerry and securing Hissy and Dusty from harm.

As laborious as the process is, I have to admit I'm enjoying building the storyline for In the Shadow of the King, including the time-consuming research. I may feel differently when it comes to editing the completed novel, which more than likely won't be until mid-to-late 2023, but in the present I'm loving every minute of it.
