Containing Kiki

I learned my lesson with Kiki after last month's terrifying experience.
When using the vacuum to clean stray litter around her litter box, I now put Kiki in her travel carrier while I do the job. Why didn't I think of that sooner?
Yesterday, I placed the carrier on the bed while tidying the room. I sat on the bed later, my back to Kiki and the carrier, as I used a long attachment to vacuum stray bits on the floor. Kiki managed to push her white-booted paw through one of the design openings in the carrier door, swiping at my back. I nearly jumped out of my skin, and moved away in short order.
When I peered into the carrier, Kiki's eyes were dark and round (a sure sign she is none-too-pleased). She made a long caterwaul and then fell silent as I finished my task. By the time she came out of the carrier, she was calm and back to her old self.
Another hysterical disaster diverted...
