New Camera

My old digital camera finally gave up the ghost. The poor thing has been working steadily for the last eight years, so it was to be expected. I have no complaints about the performance of the Polaroid PDC 4055. It served its purpose quite well.
I made the mistake of lending the camera to my father last year for one afternoon, and he returned it with a broken battery cover. He didn't give one word of apology or offer to fix the cover. I should have known better than to lend him anything because he has no respect for the property of others, although he'd be the first one to screech from the rooftop if any of his doodads were returned with damage.
Anyway, I improvised for several months by securing the battery cover to the camera with duct tape, which was a royal pain. It died altogether last week, finally giving it's all.
This morning I purchased a Kodak M532 digital camera from Office Depot for a reasonable $59. After charging the Li-Ion battery and adjusting the settings, I took a few practice shots (see below).

I prefer the slim-line feel of the new camera to the old. Ironically, I had no problems with the technical aspects of the new camera but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to attach the strap!
Simple stuff aside, I'm glad to have a working camera again. Needless to say, I will never lend it to my sociopathic begetter.

POSTSCRIPT 06/25/12: I found instructions on attaching the strap to my new camera (see above), but still can't get it to slide through the notch. Eh? POSTSCRIPT 06/29/12: Finally attached the strap - used a bent paperclip to pull it through the notch. YAY! :)
