My research for fictional purposes this morning included auto repair parts and shop layouts, the word for "the evil eye" in Italian (Malocchio), and street maps and architectural styles common to Beacon Hill in Boston.
All of the research was for Blood & Soul.
One of the most enjoyable parts of writing is creating people and names. The cast of characters for Blood & Soul is growing. I added two more today (Salvatore Fratelli and Mick Haney). I also decided to bring back the loathsome Kendrick Lester from Bloodlust. I sort of left his fate dangling at the end of Bloodlust, but decided today his presence would add to the developing storyline in Blood & Soul.
Writing is never dull, except when it comes down to brass tacks and the editing begins.
