New Tech & Such
Posted Thursday, 02/06/25I recently received
a new PC, which was a long time coming.
My old computer is ten years old, with the 8.1 Windows operating
system. Many
of the programs were not functioning properly, and it was slow as
molasses on
start-up. The new PC is a Hewlett-Packard Pro Tower business desktop,
with
Windows 11 and new versions of Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop Elements.
One of my main concerns was also finding a web editor compatible with Microsoft Expression Web 4, which has been rather obsolete since 2012. I prefer WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors because you can edit or create on the actual web page rather than doing it all via the html code. Kompozer is a good alternative, but it is somewhat touchy.
Rather
than spending a fortune on Adobe
Dreamweaver, I settled on the Coffee
Cup HTML Editor.
It has taken me a minute to get used to the new layout and order of
editing tasks, but I believe it will work out well in the long run. I
use it, along with Kompozer.
Transferring files and other programs from the old computer to the new took a day or two, but now the process is complete. I'm quite happy with the results.
Now I can get back to the business of writing Limb of Iniquity. I'm still hoping to finish the novel by summertime.
Fingers crossed!
