Rainee's Woes
Posted Wed, 01/21/15
A few weeks before Christmas last year, Rainee's right-ear flap became puffy at the tip. It was almost as if it had been filled with air, although she didn't appear to be in any pain or ill otherwise. I took her to the animal clinic, naturally. The doctor said the puffiness was caused by a hematoma that left fluid behind, so they used a needle to extract the fluid.
Rainee had to wear a tight medical wrap for several hours, which she was not happy about.
In the picture above left, Rainee is leaning against the couch looking up as if begging me to remove the wrap. I finally took it off about ten o'clock that night. Needless to say, she was much happier! Note: Click on above images to view larger sizes in a new window.
The puffiness in her ear completely vanished in about one week, and has not returned since - knock on wood.
